Megan Joyce - my start in a recruitment apprenticeship

Written by Megan Joyce | June 4, 2015

My name’s Megan Joyce and I’ve been with BPS World for around 5 months. In this time I have had the chance to work in all three industries that we recruit for: Engineering, Marketing and Technology.

I spent time in each industry to find the right match and in one of those weeks I managed to place a candidate! It’s a great feeling to find someone a job and to coach them through the complete process, and it’s very rewarding to know your hard work has helped change someone’s life.

After completing my A-Levels I wasn’t sure on what to do next, I had received my place at university but it just didn’t seem the right fit for me. I was recommended to BPS World by a friend who is also on the recruitment apprenticeship programme. Undertaking an apprenticeship makes a lot more sense to me; I’ve now got a better understanding of the industry, opportunities to progress and actual working experience to put on my CV.

I knew nothing about recruitment and what was demanded of you before joining, but that hasn’t held me back. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but BPS World have provided all the right tools and opportunities for me to do my best. I have an internal tutor, external tutor from Learn Direct (a UK leading skills provider) and many senior peers to learn from.

I’m looking forward to receiving my qualification, moving into a Resourcer position and continuing my career. To find out more about the BPS World apprenticeship programme visit:
