Nathan Brown - my start in recruitment

Written by Nathan Brown | April 22, 2015

My name is Nathan Brown and I have been an Apprentice Resourcer for just over 3 months now. I am based in the Warrington office, but kicked off my recruitment journey some 180 miles away from home in our sunny Maidenhead head office to undertake my induction training.

Recruitment was completely new to me and I didn’t know what to expect. Two weeks of induction training provided me with an excellent introduction to the industry and I was able to meet my fellow apprentices that I would be working alongside.

The training has been on – going, I’m constantly developing with the support of both internal (BPS World L&D department) and external tutors (Learn Direct). I am in the engineering team and my knowledge of the field has come on leaps and bounds as well as my skills in recruitment, the best part of this job is speaking to new people each day and learning new information as you go. It’s a challenging role, although who doesn’t like a challenge?

I would recommend this programme to anyone, it’s a great way to kick start a career and a massive opportunity to learn from some of the most interesting people and including some of my colleagues at BPS World.
