Our World / Why I love in-house recruitment

After graduating from university I pursued a career in sales and marketing, this opened my eyes to the world of recruitment and in 2010 I started recruiting for sales and marketing candidates for some of the UK’s leading luxury brands.
I then continued my career by recruiting across various sectors providing an insight into multiple industries including the intricacies of telecommunications to bespoke fashion retailers.
In 2014 I started a role as an in-house recruiter/L&D Trainer for BPS World. My motivation for moving in-house was that I could demonstrate my passion for recruitment and BPS World. It enabled me to see first-hand the difference being made to the organisation by the candidates I recruit. At BPS World, one of our key initiatives is to champion the future of young people, we have developed an industry first apprenticeship programme - ‘Rising Stars’.
I have been responsible for recruiting, managing and developing this programme. Seeing talented individuals in their first jobs thriving is something I’m immensely proud of. All of our Apprentices have made placements ahead of business expectations. Recently one of our Apprentices (with 10 months recruitment experience) has been promoted into an Account Management role which is ahead of the traditional curve and a testament to the outstanding success of the Rising Stars Programme. It’s also great to see that the candidates I have found for our more senior roles are making a real difference to our clients’ hiring challenges.

Working in-house has been extremely rewarding, seeing the results of my hard work on a day to day basis. It gives me a great sense of pride and I hope to recruit many more candidates to join us on our exciting journey.
