I can’t believe that 6 months have passed already, time has moved along so quickly! I am now 6 months into my role with BPS World on the recruitment apprenticeship programme.
Following on from my last blog which had details of my first 3 months on the recruitment apprenticeship programme, I have learnt plenty of valuable lessons in the up and down world of recruiting.
In all honesty, I would say it has been a very enjoyable six months with a few bumps but in this game you got to always forget and move on from the lows. So, the highs have included; making my first few placements, winning ‘Employee of the Month’ and ‘Deal of the Month’ for my efforts in filling a role that was open for just over a year and finally passing probation with BPS World.
I have learnt a lot from a recruiting point of view, I have successfully dealt with a counter offer, managing candidates from the initial conversation whether that be over the phone or via email all the way through to interview stages then (hopefully) to offer and starting a new role.
I visited a client’s offices to attend a meeting with two hiring managers to discuss how I can help them recruit Process Engineers, as well as them teaching me the technical capabilities they are looking for. This was a very enjoyable experience for me as I know not a lot of recruiters get the chance to meet their client’s!
I hope to progress within BPS World into a full-time Resourcer, my recruitment apprenticeship will officially draw to a close in 6 months’ time but I can progress earlier if I reach the objectives set for me. I think what I want to go into is more Business Development, being able to manage my own account is something that appeals to me. I know here at BPS World, whatever route I decide to take for my career I will be able to flourish.
