Our World / Bradley Carton - my start in a recruitment apprenticeship
Bradley Carton
April 2, 2015
My name is Bradley Carton and I have been in a recruitment apprenticeship at BPS World for 3 months now, during my short time here I have learnt essential lessons not only in the world of recruitment but about myself as a person.
I decided to go down an apprenticeship route from the simple fact I didn’t want to go to University. (The idea of being in debt at such a young age didn’t sit right with me). Why recruitment? I saw the recruitment industry as something exciting, and was a career path that was extremely new to me but welcome too.
From being a part of the industry now, I feel my expectations were a little off. It is a surprisingly fun challenge to get another human a new job. I learn something new every day, no day is the same. Being in the Engineering team, I have to understand what engineers do on a daily basis which is (in some cases) genius stuff!
Overall, I would recommend apprenticeships to any young person. An opportunity to earn money and earn a National recognised qualification at the same time is incredibly appealing to anyone! If you are a young person looking at the recruitment industry, I can assure you it will be a fun, yet challenging journey that cannot be passed up on.
